Blanche Meade and Harriet Shaw were expecting another pleasant Sunday at St. Paul's Church. But right before they're about to hand their first bulletin to Murial, her head explodes. The Reverend gives them the skinny. There's been an outbreak. People are dying. The church can't get infected. And while the Reverend goes for reinforcements, Blanche and Harriet are given weapons and left to guard the gates. But then a Doctor comes to the door. He claims he can cure the outbreak. Harriet buys it. Blanche doesn't. And what ensues is a struggle for power, exclusivity and the true moral way. Influenced more by Becket than Romero, the film proposes a dialectic about the failures of all authoritarian institutions.
